Motorcycle: Front fender repair.
Front cracked motorcycle fender.
Repair area is prepped. Any paint and film is cleaned off so that ABS plastic is exposed. A dremel was used to widen the cracked area for filling and reinforcement holes are drilled. *You can use a small strip of fiberglass on the back to really strengthen and reinforce the repair.
Backside of fender shows Repair Plastic spread wide and slightly built up giving it strength.
Finished repair! The excess RP on the front has been ground of with a medium file and sandpaper and the fender is now ready for priming and re-painting.
*Note: When applying RP on the side that you will ultimately see be sure not to use too much, as you will be spending more time filing and sanding! RP is much harder than the ABS plastic so if it is too thick you may find that you are removing more plastic fender than you are RP. Remember, less is more! You can always add more RP later if you need to.
